Keith E. Johnson CPA was established as a small individual tax firm on January 1, 1997 to serve individuals on their tax matters. From the very first client, we have worked hard to ensure that our clients are like family. We give each of our clients individualized service and attention and provide them with the highest possible quality of service.
After a couple of years, word about our services began to get out and our firm began to grow. To accomodate more clients, we began to offer business tax services such as corporate tax, partnership tax, and payroll tax. We built our practice on house calls to homes and offices. We believe that meeting the client in their familiar home or office setting makes them feel more at ease talking about highly personal financial matters. While we meet clients at our offices now, we will still meet clients at their home or office upon request.
In 1999, we started working with the non-profit community of Jacksonville. We offer IRS Form 990 filing as well as Form 1023 and 1024 applications for new non-profit corporations. Since then, we have grown to be a full service CPA firm for non-profits.
In 2002, we incorporated, adding the PA to our name. As we continued to grow, we continued to add more services. Also in 2002, we earned state and federal licenses to sell insurance products as well as securities products such as retirement plans for individuals and businesses as well as college and financial planning tools.
In 2006, we moved from our home to the Beaver St. Enterprise Center business incubator in downtown Jacksonville. This enabled us to be centrally located as well as provide services for the inner-city small business community of Jacksonville. We grew tremendously during that time and left in mid-2007 to the Corporate Square business park on the Southside. We continued to grow, and in 2008 moved into our current location in Arlington.
Starting in 2007, we added audits of for-profit and non-profit entities to our menu of services. We provide other attest services as well.
Also starting in 2007, we experienced massive growth year over year that continues to this day to prove that providing honest, high quality and ethical service to clients at a reasonable price is still the way to go to grow a business. We also are very active in many different professional, business, and civic organizations and are always available for seminars and lectures on any business, accounting, and tax subject.
We have been in practice for 12 years and we anticipate the next 12 years and beyond to be exciting, fun, and growing. We hope you will be a part of our history as we move forward through the 21st century.
